About Elite Combat Systems

Elite Combat Systems began in 1979 when I started down a path unknown to me at the time, would turn into a lifetime of work and research. The journey began with Karate and going through such systems as Wing Chun, Jeet Kune Do, Thai Boxing, Kali, Silat, Savate, Judo, wrestling and Jiu Jitsu. I, as an Instructor, have tried to put myself in every possible situation from self-defense scenarios to competitions in Boxing, stick fighting, Kickboxing to Jiu Jitsu. "To absorb what is useful, reject what is useless, add specifically what is my own." - Bruce Lee

Elite Combat Systems is an expression of myself and my understanding of the art of combat. Elite is a modern combat concept of training, fighting and learning the most effective systems in the world.

Our goal, as a growing structure of accomplished martial artists, is to produce Instructors, Fighters and Academies the world over who represent the concepts of this organization. -  "It is not daily increase but daily decrease, you must hack away the unessential." Bruce Lee

The Elite organization works to be at the front of the line when it comes to finding better ways to train by conditioning through cardiovascular and strength training coupled with increasing our knowledge of nutrition so our bodies can be at peak performance levels. Never resting on what was, but always looking to what will be though testing ourselves and our arts to create some of the best Instructors and competitors in the world in stand-up, ground fighting and weapons work. We train in all ranges of combat from kicking to grappling and all weapon ranges (long, medium and short).

We would like to invite you to come train and possibly become a part of this growing network of very talented martial artists.

History of the Arts

Jeet Kune Do
Developed in the middle 60's by one of the greatest martial artists of the 20th century, the late Bruce Lee. Jeet Kune Do (JKD) in my opinion is one of the best methods of combat in the world. The concepts used in JKD training methods and fighting strategies are unsurpassed. Unfortunately it is also one of the most overlooked and misunderstood expressions of martial arts. By understanding and utilizing the concepts in JKD we set ourselves apart from other mixed martial artists. Elite Combat Systems embraces the JKD methods and consider it to be the core of our curriculum.

Kali-Eskrima
An ancient system of war and combat founded in the islands of the Philippines with multi-racial influences. The Filipino's have proven themselves and their unique fighting systems time and again. The subsystems of these arts include empty hands fighting, boxing,  grappling and kicking. The weapons sector ranges from knife, single stick to double stick. The weapons and knife defenses taught in Kali-Eskrima are the best in the world for civilian, law enforcement and military combat training.

Muay Thai
Know as the art of 8 limbs, Muay Thai is famous for their destructive kicks, knees and elbows. These tenacious fighters are also fearsome trainers dedicated to the perfection of their brutal and effective combat method.

Submission Grappling
One of the oldest forms of combat. wrestling take downs, joint locks and throws can be found in every nation in the world today and in ancient civilization. History tells us grappling was used in combat and games from the Romans to Greeks throughout Asia and the western world. Our curriculum at Elite is a mixture of Jiu-Jitsu, Shooto, Wrestling and Judo to develop well rounded grapplers.

Western Boxing
The "Sweet Science" a game of quick hands, evasive footwork and powerful combinations. This is one the best methods for combat. Elite is strong in boxing tradition and trait evident in our students and instructors.

Chinese Boxing
Keampa Robinson and Joseph Mason developed an eclectic form of Chinese Gung Fu they simply referred to as Chinese Boxing. An expression of free style martial arts mixed with concepts of ancient Chinese fighting forms, combined into a quick and devastating system of self defense.
