History of the Arts

Jeet Kune Do
Developed in the middle 60's by one of the greatest martial artists of the 20th century, the late Bruce Lee. Jeet Kune Do (JKD) in my opinion is one of the best methods of combat in the world. The concepts used in JKD training methods and fighting strategies are unsurpassed. Unfortunately it is also one of the most overlooked and misunderstood expressions of martial arts. By understanding and utilizing the concepts in JKD we set ourselves apart from other mixed martial artists. Elite Combat Systems embraces the JKD methods and consider it to be the core of our curriculum.

Kali-Eskrima
An ancient system of war and combat founded in the islands of the Philippines with multi-racial influences. The Filipino's have proven themselves and their unique fighting systems time and again. The subsystems of these arts include empty hands fighting, boxing,  grappling and kicking. The weapons sector ranges from knife, single stick to double stick. The weapons and knife defenses taught in Kali-Eskrima are the best in the world for civilian, law enforcement and military combat training.

Muay Thai
Known as the art of 8 limbs, Muay Thai is famous for their destructive kicks, knees and elbows. These tenacious fighters are also fearsome trainers dedicated to the perfection of their brutal and effective combat method.

Submission Grappling
One of the oldest forms of combat, wrestling take downs, joint locks and throws can be found in every nation in the world today and in ancient civilization. History tells us grappling was used in combat and games from the Romans to Greeks throughout Asia and the western world. Our curriculum at Elite is a mixture of Jiu-Jitsu, Shooto, Wrestling and Judo to develop well rounded grapplers.

Western Boxing
The "Sweet Science" a game of quick hands, evasive footwork and powerful combinations. This is one of the best methods for combat. Elite is strong in boxing tradition a trait that is evident in our students and instructors.

Chinese Boxing
Keampa Robinson and Joseph Mason developed an eclectic form of Chinese Gung Fu they simply referred to as Chinese Boxing. An expression of free style martial arts mixed with concepts of ancient Chinese fighting forms, combined into a quick and devastating system of self defense.
